Baby week: last few days with just my girl.

It has been quite a while since my last post. The biggest reason for that is I’ve been working to complete my Master’s of Business Administration final capstone project. More than 30 pages, 35 sources and many draining hours and I’m done. As long as I earn a solid grade I should finish my degree with a 3.96 GPA, which I’m incredibly proud to say. But that isn’t even remotely the most exciting aspect of my life right now.
Lauren and I are expecting our second child, Gunner Dean, Nov. 2. However, just like with Eden, Lauren is super impatient and the doctor decided to let us induce this Thursday, Oct. 12. I can’t even begin to express how excited I am to have a son! I have always wanted to have a boy of my own, so I can raise him to be a respectful, kind and loving man. I just hope he doesn’t inherit my bald gene!
Lauren and I were playing with Eden on Saturday and realized this is the last weekend with just our girl. Our little girl who amazes us each day. She knows sign language, has endless amounts of personality and is the sweetest child I’ve ever met. Now we will have a new parenting challenge. We need to continue to show her the same love and attention as always even though there will be another baby in the house. I know she will be great with Gunner and I look forward to setting aside time for her and I to have daddy-daughter dates.
I can’t believe we are about to have our second child in our short time in North Dakota, but it does get very cold in the winter so it’s not completely surprising. I have loved every minute of being a dad to my sweet girl and I can’t wait to do the same for my boy!
